Lucius Lai, Principal Consultant of AMC

Brief Profile:

Lucius is an experienced management consultant and a professional trainer at the Academy.

Lu.cius has extensive experience in the management training and education fields for eighteen years. He served as senior training manager for the largest motor manufacturer in the Mainland, senior adviser in the Management Development Centre of Hong Kong of Vocational Training Council, and the director of an education institution offering degree programmes in management in Macao.

His areas of expertise include consulting and teaching in supervisory management, operations management and organisation development whereby he undertook a number of key research and development projects, e.g. the Successful Supervisors Series (a highly popular self-learning programme), the Managerial Capability Framework (a comprehensive competency management framework for self development) and the Middle Manager Series (a collection of training manuals for management workshops). 

Lucius has conducted a wide variety of management courses including train the management trainer and various topical programmes including management techniques and project management. He also played a major role in introducing effective management approaches e.g. the National Vocational Qualifications in Management and the Cambridge Career Award in Project Management. 

Prior to becoming a training professional, Lucius had extensive line management experience for fifteen years. He was the administrative executive of a garment factory, the station manager of worldwide leading courier company, operations manager of the largest commercial security company in Hong Kong, assistant general manager of a regional multi-billion dollar off-shore trading company for branded products, director and general manager of a SME facility company.

• Master in Business Management, Asian Institute of Management in Manila

• Qualified Development Adviser, Summative Assessor and Internal Verifier, University of Oxford Delegacy of Local Examinations for the National Vocational Qualifications in Management
