Train-the-Trainer Workshop 管理導師培訓 - A Three-Day Intensive Competency Starter Program (offered jointly with the Institute of Training Professionals) Objectives: To develop trainer's platform delivery skills in order to effectively conduct a successful classroom training session. Content: Day 1: How to Design and Prepare for Learning Programs and Learning Sessions The role of the tutor in identifying learning needs of individuals and groups to meet organizational and personal objectives and needs. Motivation theories and their application in identification of learning needs and encouraging learners to assume responsibility for their own development. Designing learning programs to meet learns' identified needs. Methods of program design and developing a session plan for delivery to ensure that all requirements for each learning session are met.
Day 2: How to Deliver Learning Activities to Meet Learners' Needs Facilitating learning through a variety of activities. Methods of adapting content and style of presentation to suit the needs of small and large groups, and groups with different levels of knowledge and experiences. Methods of and techniques for building skills to individuals and groups of learners. Barriers to learning caused by the learning environment.
Day 3: How to Assess Learning Programs and Learners' Progress and Achievement How to help learners to develop study skills including time management and work organization skills. Methods of obtaining valid, reliable and sufficient information on learners' progress from a variety of sources. Selecting from and applying a range of possible methods for assessing knowledge and skills learned. Techniques for giving effective feedback to learners on achievement to encourage future learning and achievement. Methods for evaluating learning programs.
Course Duration & Dates: Three days (9:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.) To minimize disturbance to participants' normal work, classes are scheduled on three consecutive Saturdays: 14, 21 and 28th March 2009. Class Size: Maximum 24 persons Approach: Short lecture input, hands-on exercise, role-play, video show (if appropriate), group discussion, reflection, presentation and debriefing. Learning Medium: Lectures and activities in class will be conducted in Cantonese, with English terms as appropriate. Trainer: All the above three trainers/facilitators were responsible for the Design, Development and Delivery of the legendary "Train the Management Trainer (TMT)" Program Series while serving as Senior Advisers at the Management Development Centre of Hong Kong (MDC), HK's only and unique R&D unit in management development operating under the Vocational Training Council (circa.1984-2006). Award: A workshop Diploma jointly signed by the above three trainers would be awarded to participants who submit an assignment detailing a training plan on a specific topic (no shorter than 3 pages, at font size of not larger than 12 pts. and printed at single-line spacing on A-4 paper) within two weeks upon completion of the workshop.
