The Academy is supported by a Board of Advisors and is governed by a Board of Directors called the 'Council' which is comprised of leading management consultants, academics, and practitioners. The Academy is led by the CEO, Dr. C.Y. Wong.  Day-to-day activities are undertaken by the Operations Director, Prof. Alfred Ho. The Council has several Working Committees.

The Academy is governed by the Board of Directors. The board meets once a quarter and has the following members. When the Council is not in session, the Executive Committee consisting of the CEO, the COO, and the CFO shall meet once a month:

Role of the Council

Overall, the roles of the Council are to:

• Deliver sustainable long-term value to shareholders
• Lead and guide the corporate strategy and direction
• Exercise its general powers within the limits defined by the articles of association of the Company
• Provide oversight in the conduct of business
• Review major financial decisions and performance
• Ensure the soundness of internal control policies and risk management systems
• Ensure that management discharges their duties and are compensated appropriately.

Chief Exceutive Officer

Dr. Wong is the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of the Academy and is one of our most seasoned industrial engineers and consultants, with over 30 years of both hands-on consulting and training experiences.  Dr. Wong is a practitioner, having managed and run many factories since 1976.  In 1979 CY joined the largest Aluminum & Brass Extruder in Hong Kong, which is a joint venture between an Australian group & a Hong Kong group. He was responsible for its planning, organizing & controlling internal administration, finance, personnel, export activities, and formulating finance, administration & personnel policies. In 1982 he started to work as General Manager for one of the most prestigious ?Fortune 500? in the region, working on metal tyre valves, tyre pressure gauges & automobile accessories. 

Dr. Wong is a quality guru and trainer, notably in areas such as workflow, productivity improvements, and quantum improvement in efficiencies.  For over 10 years, Dr. Wong has been associated as a Senior Advisor at the Management Development Centre (MDC) of the Vocational Training Council.

Chief Operating Officer

Prof. Alfred Ho, the head of Operations, is the executive director responsible for the smooth running and quality development and delivery of all programs and services. Alfred has been with the Vocational Training Council, Hay Consulting, and has been an advisor to SMEs for over 30 years. He is a graduate of the University of Hong Kong (BSocSc, MBA) and the Polytechnics University (MScIS). He is a Fellow of IMC, IIM, ITP and is a CMC. Besides he is a pioneer in promoting Knowledge Management practices in Hong Kong. Alfred is an Oxford University NVQ Assessor in Management.

Chief Program Developer

Mr. Charles Foley is responsible for the development, testing, and integration of learning tools. Charles has been developing learning instruments, management trainers, and management training programs for over 30 years. He has been associated with KPMG in Australia, Price Waterhouse in the UK, British Gas, PKKI, the Polytechnics University,  and the Vocational Training Council in Hong Kong. Charles has been training management consultants since his early days at Price Waterhouse and has continued that tradition with development of the Diploma in Management Consultancy and Change for PKKI. Since then, he has led the development of various programs including the Professional Foundation of Management Consultancy and the new Company Diagnostic Program. Charles is a graduate of Liverpool University (BA, MBA) and is a fellow of IMC and is a CMC.

Chief Technology Officer

The use of technology to enhance learning effectiveness and quality has been a constant challenge for training professionals. The role of the CTO is to assist the Academy in developing a sound IT strategy, utilizing the web as an engine and enabler, and not as an electronic page turning machine. Mr. Simon chan is an independent non-executive director whose experience at Symantec, USI interactive, and various technology firms as their CTOs in the US have given these companies tremendous amount of IT presece.
